Le Dacian Draco [drako] était l'enseigne standard des troupes de l'ancien peuple dacien, que l'on peut voir dans les mains des soldats de Decebalus dans plusieurs scènes représentées sur la colonne de Trajan à Rome, en Italie. Il a la forme d'un dragon avec des mâchoires ouvertes en forme de loup et la langue d'un serpent. La tête du dragon creux était montée sur un poteau avec un tube de tissu fixé à l'arrière. Dans la pratique, le draco était tenu dans le vent ou au-dessus de la tête d’un cavalier, où il se remplissait d’air et donnait l’impression qu’il était vivant tout en émettant un son aigu alors que le vent traversait ses bandes de tissu.
En arrière-plan, on peut voir le Sphinx des Carpates, où les Daces ont l'habitude de prier leur dieu, Zamolxes, avant d'aller en guerre ... et pas seulement ...

The Dacian Draco [draˈko] was the standard ensign of troops of the ancient Dacian people, which can be seen in the hands of the soldiers of Decebalus in several scenes depicted on Trajan's Column in Rome, Italy. It has the form of a dragon with open wolf-like jaws and tongue of a serpent. The hollow dragon's head was mounted on a pole with a fabric tube affixed at the rear. In use, the draco was held up into the wind, or above the head of a horseman, where it filled with air and gave the impression it was alive while making a shrill sound as the wind passed through its strips of material.
In the background it can be seen the Carpathian Sphinx, were the Dacians used to pray to their God, Zamolxes, before going to war...and not only....
