« Omnia communia”( All things in common)- medieval inspiration painting; acrylic with pallet knife and brushes on linen canvas 73/54 cm.

This image represents my own “seal”. Why? Because nowhere else you can find a Knight Templar and Knight Teuton on the same horse. I put them together because they had the same purpose despite their “competition” and “miss understandings”.
The traditional seal of the Knights Templar depicted two knights riding a single mount and was used by several Grand Masters over the Templars’ 200 year history.
As is the case with any symbol, the attached meaning can vary and great studies have been done into symbolism just like my painting.
The image of the two knights astride a single mount was said to represent their vow of poverty, a representation of the duality or conflict that existed in the order or one knight represented a Templar while the other depicted Christ (Wherever two or more of you are gathered in My name, there am I, in the midst of them).
PS: originally, the knights have a open helmet that protects only the nose. I choose integral helmets as they will be in mystery for forever.
