“Purification “, mixed media on canvas 65/54/5 cm
Inspiration after Brancusi’s sculpture “Torso of a young man”.
In my conception, is about a broken soul that is going through a purification of the soul, a complete transformation due to the Kintsugi technique, a Japanese philosophy that the value of an object is not in its beauty, but in its imperfections, and that these imperfections are something to celebrate, not hide.
With kintsugi, every step you make toward healing is like gluing those pieces back together with gold. You feel more whole and complete.
“Just like the kintsugi bowl, I am being restored”
